Fundraiser for Cancer Patient’s Expenses This Saturday
On Saturday, April 18, a fundraiser will be held to help with expenses incurred during Chuck Womack's treatment for colon cancer. The event will be held at Hot Tails Crawfish hut on Hwy 71 just north of Interstate 30 in Texarkana.
There will be a bake sale with tons of yummy foods to purchase. Many items have been collected for silent auctions and raffles, too. If you would like to help out by donating items or baking treats, please contact Karen at 903-293-2248 or send a message to Hot Tails Crawfish on Facebook and arrangements will be made to pick up items and donations.
The family is hoping Chuck will make it back in time for the event but he is currently in Arizona recovering from a successful surgery to remove the cancer. The treatment continues for Chuck and his road to recovery will be difficult. He doesn't have much energy so if he makes it to the event, he won't be there long so be sure to come by early to meet him and visit.
Chuck is a father, brother, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. The treatment he is receiving from the cancer center is saving his life and giving him back to his loved ones. While fighting for his life, expenses continue to pile up as there is no pause button on the costs associated with day-to-day living. Chuck's treatments require extensive travel. He is not able to work as he is at the cancer center and when he returns home he will be weak for quite some time.
Chuck had surgery the second week of April and chemo starts immediately. There will be a lot of follow up visits and treatments. Chuck and his wife, Barbara, have six children and numerous grandchildren. Please help this family stay afloat and take the worry of meeting the daily expenses off of their shoulders so they can concentrate on getting Chuck healthy and back on his feet. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated.
Please send your prayers during this most difficult time.
If you cannot make it to the event but would like to donate to help Chuck, please visit the GoFundMe page that was set up for him by his good friend Jeff Crosswhite.
