Flood Damage to Residents and Businesses Need to Report
Texarkana, Texas, and Bowie County residents who have been affected by the recent flooding event need to report damages to the State of Texas Department of Emergency Management so that a total damage cost estimate can be calculated.
If you experienced damage due to flooding from May 17, 2021, until the present, please visit damage.tdem.texas.gov/ and click on “May 17-TBD, 2021 Severe Weather”. It is recommended that residents take multiple photos and/or videos of the damage to document and report accurately.
According to a press release, the objective of this survey is to identify damages across Texas, to help emergency management officials across the state gain an understanding of damages that have occurred during recent natural disaster activity.
Business owners or residents within the city limits that have suffered water damage should contact the City of Texarkana, Texas Inspections Department at (903) 798-3912 before repair work is started.
The Texas Baptist Men Association has volunteered to send teams out to help with mucking out and gutting if needed. Contact (903) 798-3043 for contact information.
