Exchange Your Delicious Recipes At The PJ Ahern Home September 24
The fifth annual 'Recipe Exchange' will take place at the PJ Ahern House on Saturday, September 24 from 2 to 4 PM.
This is what the Texarkana Museum Systems had to say about this great upcoming event:
Join the Texarkana Museums System on Saturday September 24, 2:00-4:00 p.m., for the 5th Annual Recipe Exchange! Admission is one recipe to share with the community. This year's theme is "Canned Goodies" so guests are asked to bring recipes found on the labels of canned foods or to bring a recipe that includes a canned food as one of the ingredients.
The Texarkana museum systems will provide three dishes for all of the folks attending to try. If you like any of them you can grab a copy of those recipes. All of the recipes you submit will become part of the Texarkana Museums System Archives' Foodways collection. Entry to the event is free but you must bring a recipe to share with the group.
The historic PJ Ahern home was designed by the original owners in the early 1900s. The two-story home features four bedrooms, four baths, a butler pantry, a music room, and a screened-in porch that was added in 1918 for the kids to sleep in.
The PJ Ahern was purchased in 2011 by the Texarkana Museum Systems and is now a historic site. The PJ Ahern home is located at 403 Laurel Street in Texarkana, Arkansas.
