This year we celebrate Texarkana's Sesquicentennial all year long as we honor Texarkana's 150 birthday. Coming up on Friday, April 14 and Saturday, April 15 be sure to make plans to be downtown for the Texarkana Sesquicentennial Festival will take place

The event will be held at the Downtown Post office and Sheppard's Park.

What Happens at the Texarkana Sesquicentennial Festival on Friday Night?

On Friday evening at 5:30 PM there will be a public excavation of the 1973 Time Capsule.

Schedule of Events for Saturday at the Texarkana Sesquicentennial Festival

On Saturday, April 15 the items from the Time Capsule will be put on display from 10 aM until 5 PM.

At 11 AM there will be an Opening Ceremony and then at noon enjoy a great lineup of live music. make plans to have lunch or dinner at the festival too. There will be plenty of delicious food trucks ready with food for purchase. You can also enjoy cultural activities and more.
