Blue Angels Soaring at Defenders of Liberty Air Show This Weekend
It's happening this weekend in Shreveport-Bossier the 2023 Defenders of Liberty Air Show at Barksdale Air Force Base. The weather is shaping up to be perfect to watch the highly popular Navy Blues Angels take to the sky for this two-day event.
The Blue Angels have been around since the 1940s and thrilled audiences with precision combat maneuvers in the F6 Hellcat, the F8 Bearcat, and the F9 Panther during that time. In 1986, the Blue Angels celebrated their 40th Anniversary by showcasing the Boeing F/A-18 Hornet then in 2021, they celebrated their 75th anniversary with the current Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet you see today.
Top Gun: Maverick actor Tom Cruise recently visited the Naval Air Station at North Island and poised for a photograph.
It's too bad Tom won't be at Barksdale Air Force Base but the Blue Angels are still expected to bring in huge crowds this weekend so get there early for a great spot to see this amazing show from the Blue Angels.
