Earlier this week, Drake announced the return of his annual OVO Festival, which kicks off next month in Canada. However, following the festival details on Thursday (July 11), the announcement has been met with some backlash from fans over the lineup and the steep ticket prices.

Instead of Drizzy’s show, which will take place at the Budweiser Amphitheater in Toronto on Aug. 4 and Aug. 5 this year, featuring the usual poppin', big-name acts, it looks like the 6 God has chosen a throwback theme with artists like B2K, Chingy, Mario, Lloyd, Pretty Ricky, Bobby V and the Ying Yang Twins set to perform. Yet, the prices for the show are what have fans disconcerted.

Following the announcement, fans hopped on ticket websites like Ticketmaster to buy seats but were taken aback by the prices, which range from $500 Canadian dollars, which converts to around $383 in American currency for lawn seats, to $2,500 Canadian dollars ($1,918 U.S.) for seats in the rows closer to the stage.

"Lmfao!" one fan posted on Twitter. "$500 dollars for lawn tickets to #OVOFest?! Is @Drake bringing Michael Jackson, Tupac, and Notorious B.I.G. back from dead?"

"500 dollar ovo fest lawn tickets is drake asking you 'are you stupid, are you crazy, are you dumb, which one? you can pick one' but it's a trick question and the answer is all of the above," someone else lamented.

The rage continued. "Are you fffing kidding me??" another Twitter user trying to cop tickets typed. "I just spent 45 mins waiting to purchase tickets to #OVOFest to see #Drake in #Toronto and after waiting in the queue for '2000 people' ahead of me (I was in at 10 am) #Ticketmaster only now reveals the ticket prices, with General Admission $1000??!!"

Drake, who completed his Assassination Vacation Tour earlier this year, has yet to publicly comment on the outcry.
