Did You Know Arkansas Had An Official State Song?

I have been an Arkansas resident for just 17 years. I bought a home on the Arkansas side of Texarkana but I have lived in Texarkana for almost my entire life and I found out today that Arkansas has a state song. 

The state of Arkansas is known as the natural state and anyone that has spent any time in the great state of Arkansas knows that the state has some of the best outdoor activities and some of the best views from the mountains in the northern part of the state and the best fishing and hunting anywhere.

The state of Arkansas is known to be pretty friendly and if you have traveled anywhere in the state you know that to be true. But when it comes to the state song there is some controversy in this official song. Let me explain. There was a song that was adopted in 1986 and that song is 'Oh Arkansas' and here is the youtube video for the song.

Now just one year later and 'Arkansas (You Run Deep in Me)' was written by Wayland Holyfield is one of the official state songs of Arkansas. Holyfield wrote the song in 1986 for the state's 150th-anniversary celebration and was named an official "state song" by the Arkansas General Assembly in 1987.  It even played frequently on the Arkansas Public broadcasting channel. So I am a little confused. Are there two official state songs for Arkansas? Or do they change the official song of the state on a regular basis?
