CASA Operation Playhouse Fundraiser
The Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children or CASA, presents its Operation Playhouse fundraiser.
The 'Operation Playhouse' fundraiser is going on now. This is one of Casa's big fundraisers and this is a chance to pick up a raffle ticket to win this great playhouse.
Established by the leadership of the National CASA Association and Judge Jack Carter in 1990, this year marks the 26th anniversary of CASA for Children helping abused children overcome adversity in their lives. CASA for Children provides services to more than 1,000 children annually through its CASA advocate program, the Texarkana Children’s Advocacy Center and the Family Matters child visitation and exchange center.
There are over 500,000 children placed in foster care each year due to abuse or neglect. These children deserve to grow up in a loving and nurturing environment and CASA is dedicated to helping speed up their stay in the court system and return them to a safe, loving, and permanent home. At any given time, there are 250 – 300 children in the foster care system in Miller and Bowie counties alone. The Operation Playhouse event garners an essential part of the funds needed to support the services CASA, The Texarkana Children’s Advocacy Center and Family Matters provide to these children in eleven counties in northeast Texas and southwest Arkansas.
