The family and friends of Jennifer Garrett are planning a candlelight vigil in her memory and also to stand in solidarity against domestic violence. It was originally scheduled for tonight Tuesday 17 but has been changed to Tuesday, August 24.

According to a flyer from the family, the candlelight vigil will be held at the Pavillion located behind Heritage Church located at 5801 North Kings Highway starting at 7:45 PM. The event is open to everyone that knew her and also to the community of Texarkana and surrounding areas.

Last Thursday, August 12, we found out about this horrendous crime.  According to a press release, officers responded to a welfare check at 11:30 A.M. this morning and found 27-year-old Jennifer Garrett dead inside her home. Her boyfriend, Travis Turner, was arrested for the alleged murder and booked into the Bi-State Criminal Justice Building. The body has been sent to Dallas for an autopsy.
