According to MTVCabello has just matched one of Swift's very sizable chart records. Cabello's "Havana" is the first song by a female artist to spend more than 20 weeks inside the Billboard Hot 100's Top 20 since Swift's "Shake It Off" did the same in 2014.

Since the August 2017 release of "Havana," the track has hit No. 1 on the chart and is currently sitting pretty at No. 7. Meanwhile, Cabello's second solo single, "Never Be the Same," has peaked comfortably at No. 16. Its related music video has also accumulated 21 million YouTube views in less than two weeks.

The news comes a day after Fifth Harmony — Cabello's former band — announced they were embarking on an indefinite hiatus to pursue solo projects. Cabello left the group in December 2016 to get a head start on an independent career, and while rumors circulated that Swift was the one who urged Cabello to leave 5H, Cabello said during an interview with Dan Wootton earlier this month that it was simply not the case.

“It annoyed me that people said she was encouraging me because I know that she probably got a lot of negative criticism for that. Absolutely nobody could ever persuade me to do something," she said. "If I don’t want to do something the whole world could be telling me and I won’t do it."
