Best Cheese Dip in Texarkana
Cheese dip (aka "queso") can make or break a meal or it can be the meal itself if you are like my stepson and me. While I’m sure there are still a lot of cheese dips left to be tried, here are the best ones that I have found in Texarkana in order of best to not so great.
I'm open to trying more cheese dips in Texarkana so let me know if there is another place I need to go.
I absolutely love their cheese dip. The cheese looks to be a blend of more than one type of cheese and it is sprinkled with a shredded cheddar cheese as well as Pico de Gallo if you like. You can't pass up the chips with Fuzzy Dust. I have polished off a cup of the queso and ordered another with my meal. I was a bit over-stuffed but it was worth it.
Yellow queso is the best. It is creamy, real cheese blended to perfection with jalapenos. The real cheese part is probably what makes this dip so tasty that my stepson and I polish a bowl off to the point that I was running my finger along the inside of the to-go cup to get every last bit. They have two locations in Texarkana. I usually go to the Arkansas side location because it is closer to my home and they have a drive thru.
I always go for the white queso. It is creamy and has a “lick the bowl clean” cheesy flavor. The other queso is some sort of baked, yellow cheese and not my kind of thing. The best bargain is to get the white and order a bowl instead of a cup. It is just a couple of dollars more and you get a lot more dip.
Skillet Queso is the bomb. It doesn’t look like cheese dip because it is mixed with seasoned beef which makes it brown. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. There are usually chip wars to get the last bite.
Go with the yellow or the white queso and you’ll be a winner here. I actually like to get both and switch back and forth with each chip.
You can’t beat a quick drive through lunch topped off with a simple order of nachos, which means a small cup of cheese dip and chips. There are four Taco Bell restaurants in Texarkana but I prefer the St. Michael Drive location because I’m usually shopping in that area around lunch time.
The yellow cheese dip seems to have a blended spice as it is but I suggest dressing it up and turn it into chili con queso which includes spicy, taco meat and Pico de Gallo.
This is my least favorite of all cheese dips I have tried in Texarkana. The meal I ordered was fantastic and the service was great, but the cheese dip was the worst of all that I have tried. I have tried this queso more than once and each time it tastes like a powder mix. I ordered a cup size and it was more like a bowl size at most other places which would have been great if I liked it.
