Are you a beer drinker? Exactly how much beer do we drink in Arkansas? How bout the amount they drink in Texas?

I don't know about you but my beer drinking has gone way down from the heyday of my youth. For me, it is the occasional beer when I am outside grilling for the family and the occasional family function. Other than that I don't do a lot of drinking.

So according to the website had this to say about their findings about beef consumption in the United States:

Overall U.S. beer consumption per adult age 21 and over is around 28.2 gallons per person, per year. Breaking these numbers down further, the average adult over the age of 21 is consuming about 10 ounces of per day, or roughly one six pack per week.

So how much beer do we drink in this area?

37. Arkansas 26.7 gallons

Coming in at number 37 out of 51 is a pretty surprising number. With a big college like the University of Arkansas known as a party college, it looks like Arkansas's like something other than beer, maybe some hard seltzer?

30. Oklahoma 28.3 gallons

Oklahoma is in 30th place with 28.3 gallons. You have always heard that Oklahoma beer is weaker when it comes to alcohol content. But the actual difference is less than 1 percent. So maybe it is more about wine?

11. Louisiana 33.9 gallons

If you have lived in this area you know that we all made trips to Louisiana back in the day for frozen drinks, but it looks like beer consumption is still high as Louisiana comes in at number 11.

9. Texas 34.4 gallons

I had no idea about this but according to the site

Contrary to popular belief, there is no general statewide prohibition on public consumption of alcohol in the Texas Penal Code. In other words, Texas law allows a person to drink a beer while walking down the street (or while standing in an alleyway) unless an exception applies.

And if you are curious who is in the number one spot? North Dakota with 45.5 gallons. And coming in dead last is Utah with a paltry 20.2 gallons.
