The annual Ark-La-Tex Comic Con is Labor Day weekend in Texarkana. This fun-filled event is a don't miss for any adult or child who loves to dress up as action heroes or your favorite comic book characters and play games.

Ark-La-Tex Comic Con will feature hard-to-find toys, vintage and modern comics and tons of gaming. So much fun to be had that it takes two days to do it all. Check out the mystery box full of goodies that my stepson got last year.

We dressed up, but didn't enter, the costume contest last year but that may change this year. I was dressed up as Michonne from AMC's The Walking Dead and as luck would have it, the two actors, Moses J. Moseley and Theshay West, who played her pets on the show were at this event so I was able to get my photo with them, which really made my day.

My stepson was chased down by Spider Man until he agreed to take a photo with him. That would be my husband in the background with the bunny ear action.

At Ark-La-Tex Comic Con, you don't have to dress up to have good time but to give you incentive to don an awesome costume, there will be an adult and children costume contest with the winner getting prizes but the accolades from the audience are the best.

We sat through a panel discussion about The Walking Dead which was very enlightening for a first timer like me. Different stars will make guest appearances at this event so check back often for updates. One of my favorites from last year will be back. Chris Harrelson plays many different zombie's on The Walking Dead and he is more than happy to tell you all of the ends and outs of the costume designs and how they made it happen.

On Saturday night the Vampire Masquerade Ball will be held at the Texarkana Convention Center from 7PM to midnight with dancing and karaoke. And at 10PM, a reading from the works of Edgar Allan Poe will be held.
