Agent Barry Live United Bowl Committee Announces Teams for Game Dec. 1
The sixth annual Agent Barry LIVE UNITED Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, December 1, at Texarkana Arkansas School District's Razorback Stadium. Kick-off at 12 noon.
The LIVE UNITED Bowl committee announced, during a press conference today (Nov. 14), the bowl team selections. The host team from the Great American Conference will be the Southern Arkansas University - Magnolia Muleriders who finished 8-3 for the year and coached by former Arkansas High School Champion coach, Bill Keopple. The Muleriders opponent, from the MIAA Conference, will be the Missouri Western State University Griffons from St. Joseph, Missouri with a winning record of 6-5, coached by Matt Williamson.
Former Arkansas High Razorback, U of A and Townsquare Media employee Brandon Barnett talked briefly with his former coach Bill Keopple about being the host team SAU.
Bowl game events begin Wednesday, Nov. 28, with a live remote, pre-game tailgate party at the Texarkana Arkansas Convention Center's Connection Bar. The event runs from 5:30 until 7PM and there will be free hors d' oeuvres.
Teams arrive late afternoon on Thursday, November 29 at their hotels within the Texarkana Business Park. A full slate of scheduled team activities including a football practice will take place Thursday and Friday.
The Jeans, Boots and BBQ Banquet will be held from 6-8PM on Friday, November 30, tentatively scheduled at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center. Tickets are limited and are on sale now, online only, for $25 per person at LiveUnitedBowl.com
This year's banquet will feature a special guest appearance by Arkansas High School Alumni Mike Cherry Jr. A former football player with the University of Arkansas Razorbacks who later transferred to Murray State University where he holds several passing records and continued playing days in the NFL with the New York Giants.
The community pep rally will follow the banquet at 8PM at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
Game Day Saturday starts off with a 5K Run sponsored by Arkansas Blue Cross/ Blue Shield. Participants can sign up at LiveUnitedBowl.com and the cost is $25 per person. Parking lot gates open for tailgate set up at 9AM. Stadium opens at 10AM.
