Girl Scout Troop 2061 of Texarkana installed two new Little Free Libraries at Bringle Lake Park and Spring Lake Park.

For folks who do not know the story behind the Little Free Library, here are some fast facts.

In 2009 Todd Bol built a model of little one room schoolhouse. It was built as a tribute for his mother who was a teacher who loved to read. He filled the little schoolhouse with books and put it on a post in his front yard. His neighbors and friends loved it. He built several more and gave them away. Each one had a sign that said 'free books.'

The mission of the Little Free Library is to:

Promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide and to build a sense of community as we share skills, creativity, and wisdom across generations.

The official motto of the Little Free Library is "Take a Book, Return a Book."
