Have you ever given money to a street musician? I did when Jathan and I visited Central Park in New York City several years ago. It was an experience that I will never forget. He sat on a bucket under a bridge playing a erhu, a two-stringed fiddle. After I gave him some money, he said, "You play! You play!" and thrust the instrument into my hands.

Growing up, I'd played the violin, but this was totally different! I made some strange squeaks and squeals on the instrument, laughing all the time, before I gave it back to him. When he played, however, music filled the park almost as if he were the entire string section of an orchestra all by himself!

Music has a way of connecting people that crosses all boundaries in life. Watch this video as a little girl drops a donation in a hat for a street musician in Sabadell Placa de Sant Roc in Catalonia, Spain and receives a impressive gift in return.
