Breaker, Breaker, the Snowman has the hammer down and will be rolling through Texarkana on Friday, May 29 to help raise funds to benefit wounded veterans.

This is a charity car cruise with the legendary replica Snowman rig from the Smokey and the Bandit movie. The cruise begins in LaGrange, Georgia on May 24 and makes its journey all the way to the Four States Auto Museum in Downtown Texarkana five days later. I believe the movie had the trip taking only about 36 hours but of course, they weren't obeying any speed limit laws!

There will be a show and shine and 'end of the road' party from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 29. There is no charge for the fun but donations will be accepted for the Wounded Warrior Project. Follow the Four States Auto Museum Facebook page for updates.

According to Wikipedia.org: "Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, service and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following the events of September 11, 2001. It operates as a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization." There are many events to benefit this worthy project. Many of those events require running or some other activity that not all folks are up for but this event is a family fun time and it involves a piece of Texarkana history that made it all the way into the movies! It helped put Texarkana on the map. There is also a great song that was made about the event of driving from Atlanta to Texarkana for a beer run so enjoy a great time and be sure to take your camera. Have fun!
