Say it ain't so! With a slap to the face of every redneck, country hick, hillbilly and hipster in America. Pabst Blue Ribbon has been sold to Russian company Oasis Beverages, after 170 years in Milwaukee.

Pabst not only brews PBR, but also Lone Star Beer, and Schlitz. Oasis Beverages is only 6 years old, and is based in Moscow. The company's chairman, Eugene Kashper said in a statement,

Pabst Blue Ribbon is the quintessential American brand – it represents individualism, egalitarianism, and freedom of expression – all the things that make this country great. The opportunity to work with the company’s treasure trove of iconic brands, some of which I started my career selling, is a dream come true. It will be an honor to work with Pabst's dedicated employees and partner distributors as we continue to build the business. We intend to invest meaningfully in the organization, to continue strong marketing support for PBC's unique brands, and to drive new product innovations and renovations, such as the recent launch of Ballantine IPA."

Some reports say that Oasis is paying a little more than 700 million dollars for Pabst Brewing company. Oasis imports Heineken and Chemay to Russia and currently owns 6 beer brands. The company also has an Apple Juice, an Energy Drink, and a non-alcoholic malt beverage. PBC will remain headquartered in Los Angeles and Kashper will act as C.E.O. of the company.
