At about 11:30 p.m., Dec. 19, 2014, officers were dispatched to a robbery in progress call at a convenience store in the 2000 block of South Lake Drive.

When officers arrived they were advised by the clerk that the suspect, who was wearing a mask, approached him while he was outside of the store. The suspect told the clerk that he was there to rob him.

The suspect stabbed the clerk in the back with what the clerk believed to be a pocket knife. The suspect then ordered the clerk inside the store, and made him give him an undisclosed amount of cash and some cigarettes.

The suspect fled the scene on foot.

The clerk was transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center for a non-life threatening injury.
