LL Cool J will be saluted at the 2018 We Are Family Foundation Celebration Gala next month.

The hip-hop icon is being presented with the Humanitarian Awards for his philanthropic work particularly with his Jump & Ball Foundation, which creates programs in music, arts and literacy for at-risk children.

The WAFF is a not-for-profit organization founded by Grammy-Award winning musician Nile Rodgers, whose goal is to promote cultural diversity and nurture the talents and ideas of the youth on a global scale.

"Hanging with Nile is always a good time. Truly a chic affair, where we party like we are family and dance, dance, dance for a great cause," said Uncle L in a press release. "I am honored to be recognized by Nile and the We Are Family Foundation and help support the important work they do for our youth."

LL Cool J joins a distinguished list of previous WAFF Humanitarian Award honorees including Sir Elton John, Bono, Peter Gabriel and Nile Rodgers, himself.

In addition, rock icon Roger Daltrey, who is the lead singer of The Who, will receive the Mattie J.T. Stepanek Peacemaker Award for his support of charitable organizations.

"Not only are both Roger and LL Cool J Kennedy Center and Grammy awardees, they've dedicated much of their lives to organizations that benefit people overall, and youth specifically, which perfectly aligns them with We Are Family Foundation’s mission and goals," said Rodgers of the honorees.

The 2018 We Are Family Celebration Gala award will take place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York on April 27.
