Lady Gaga has been named one of the winners of the 17th Annual Webby Awards, which celebrates achievements on the Internet.

Gaga on Tuesday was honored with the Celebrity/Fan Social Presence Webby Award for Gaga's Workshop, the website launched in late 2011 in conjunction with her Gaga's Workshop holiday shopping experience at Barneys Department Store in New York City.

Justin Bieber was given the People’s Voice Award for his use of social media in launching his “Girlfriend” fragrance last year.

Another singer, R&B superstar Frank Ocean, was awarded one of the top prizes, Webby Person of the Year.  Ocean came out as gay last July via a post to fans on his Tumblr page.

The Webbys will be presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences at a ceremony in New York City on May 21.
