As of late on Tuesday night the search continues STILL for inmate Jeremy Pifer who walked away from his work detail South of Fouke last Thursday. Can you believe he is still in the area?!

Mr. Pifer created more excitement for Fouke yesterday after he popped into the local EZ Mart for a candy bar and a soda in the wee hours of the morning.

There are many questions: Where did he get the camo clothing he is now sporting and where did that $20 bill come from that he gave the cashier for his Snickers and Coke? Why is he staying in the Fouke area if he is not from that area? So many questions with no answers.

The Monster Mart was central HQ for speculation yesterday as they handed out copies of the "Walk-Off Flyer" showing the latest pic of Mr. Pifer.

Pifer was incarcerated at the Southwest Arkansas Community Correctional Center in Texarkana. Pifer was working as the flag man on the road work detail approximately 5 miles south of Fouke on Hwy 71 South. He took a bathroom break, walked into the woods and never came back.

The Miller County Sheriff's Department and Arkansas State Police are searching the area on foot, by vehicle, with dogs and a chopper in the air to hunt down this escaped inmate. If you see him dial 9-1-1 immediately.

My personal thoughts: I seriously doubt he is still wearing the same clothes he was when he walked off the work detail. If he didn't have help getting out of the area he could possibly be looking for an opportunity to obtain assets to make his getaway successful. If he is still in the area he will need food, water and shelter of some sort. Please be aware of your surroundings as you are out and about. Additionally, please check in on your family, elderly friends or any of your neighbors that you have not seen in a few days. There is always a chance that Pifer is not in the area any longer but it is better to err on the side of caution. Lock your doors. Keep your valuables secure.

If you have any information that could help locate Jeremy Pifer, please dial 9-1-1.
