What is one of the first things we all check for when our kids are sick? Sure, we feel their heads to see if they have a fever. But what happens when that temperature refuses to go down?

During our January visit to St. Jude, we met several patients who were treated immediately with medication that was able to bring down the fever. But that doesn't always work.

Sometimes patients needed IVs to replenish the fluids in their system. Other patients had to be packed in ice until their body temperature was brought down to safe levels.

Regardless of which treatment is necessary, the staff at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is well trained and knows what to do to help kids get better.
