In addition everyone who becomes a partner in hope over the two day radiothon will have the chance to win The Big Green Egg (ceramic cooker) from Dot’s Ace Hardware valued at $1000.

This year, St. Jude is celebrating 50 years of finding cures and saving children, and we want you to become a partner in hope so that we can continue the fight to find cures and save more lives. In its most recent survey, Parents magazine named St. Jude the No. 1 pediatric cancer care hospital in the country, based on the magazine’s survey of more than 75 children’s hospitals nationwide.

St. Jude has developed protocols that have helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20 percent when the hospital opened in 1962 to 80 percent today.

In 1962, the survival rate for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), the most common form of childhood cancer, was 4 percent. Today, the survival rate for this once deadly disease is 94 percent, thanks to research and treatment protocols developed at St. Jude.

The daily operating cost for St. Jude is $1.7 million, which is primarily covered by public contributions.

We’ve found that over the years country music listeners have been very generous in helping us achieve our goals to help raise money for St Jude kids. So join us Thursday February 23 and Friday February 24th for the “Country Cares For St Jude Kid’s Radiothon” on Kicker 102.5 because country music listeners really do care.
