It's hard to believe that school will be starting back up in about a month. So with August almost upon us, it's time to start buying all the school supplies your child or teenager will need for the 2019-2020 school year. Boy, those lists are a lot longer than when I was a kid, that's for sure. I found links for most of the area schools districts in and around the Texarkana area.
Texas A&M University-Texarkana has named Ryan Wall as the university’s head men’s basketball coach. Wall is the second coach tabbed to run the first-ever A&M-Texarkana basketball program after initial hire Charles Goar decided to pursue other interests.
Madison Chitwood, a Southern Arkansas University junior Nursing major from Van Buren, Arkansas, won the women’s individual competition at the National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships on March 29, 2019. SAU’s women’s team also won the team competition at the tournament held in Appling, Georgia, on the International Disc Golf Center’s “Steady” Ed Headrick Memorial course.

At the beginning of the 2018-19 school year, the University of Arkansas at Hope and the Hope Public School District (HPSD) began a pilot program to offer students a chance to earn a high school diploma and an associate degree simultaneously.
Diamond Holmes of Texarkana, Arkansas, has been selected as the 2019 TRiO Upward Bound Selects 2019 Hall of Fame Recipient at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT). Holmes is the daughter of Tanyaka Conway. She is a senior at Arkansas High School and an active member of Lonoke Baptist Church. She also works part-time and enjoys spending quality time with her three younger brothers.
