When he was just a little kid, Bruno Mars made a cameo appearance in the movie Honeymoon in Vegas.  Now, he's returning to the big screen  or at least his voice is.  He's just joined the cast of the upcoming animated movie Rio 2.

The movie's Facebook page announced the news, saying that the whole cast of the original Rio, which took in $484 million globally, will be back, including Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg.  The page also announced the new cast members, who in addition to Bruno include Andy Garcia and Kristen Chenoweth.  No word on which part Bruno will be playing in the movie.

The bad news is that we're going to have to wait until April 14, 2014 to see the film.  The plot, according to the Hollywood Reporter, will focus on Blu, the neurotic blue macaw introduced in the original Rio, plus his mate Jewell and their three children.  The two clash over Jewell's desire to raise the kids in the Amazon, rather than in domesticity. Additionally, the action will somehow involve the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in Rio next year.
