‘Better Block Party’ This Saturday In Downtown Texarkana

A Better Block Party will be held on Broad Street in downtown Texarkana. This “pop-up” block will give citizens a taste of what downtown could be by transforming the street into a pedestrian and cyclist-friendly area, complete with landscaping touches and vendor-occupied storefronts for the public to browse. Come ready to shop, dine and discover more in downtown.

Better Block Texarkana is a project focused on changing the story about downtown Texarkana. On Saturday the orginization will take back Broad Street in the heart of downtown Texarkana. For one day, they are inviting local and regional businesses to call downtown their home by temporarily setting up stores & restaurants in a place they once thrived. They are hoping that through this effort, the community will continue a conversation about what downtown Texarkana could be and begin the process of taking ownership of its future.
