Watch For a New Traffic Light on Highway 82 in Bowie County

When you drive a route every day you get so used to it that you feel like you could drive it with your eyes closed well not really but you get the idea. If you travel on Highway 82 in Bowie County, keep your eyes open for a new traffic light.

Where Will the New Traffic Light Be Located?

The new traffic light will be located at the intersection of US Highway 82 and FM 2148 in Bowie County. It is scheduled to become active this Wednesday, November 30.

According to a press release from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) the Atlanta District Director of Transportation Operations Christina Trowler said:

“Activation of the new signal is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 30, weather permitting. We advise motorists to use caution as they approach the intersection while the public adjusts to the change.”

Will There Be a Reminder of Some Kind on The Road?

There are portable message boards already in place around the area to remind drivers about the change coming this week. There has also been work done to add new lighting and rumble strips at the intersection too.

Striping Technology, L.P. of Tyler was awarded the contract earlier in the year with a bid $248,913.
