Texarkana Arkansas residents out of work will be getting an additional $300 per week.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency administrator Pete Gaynor approved Arkansas for a FEMA grant under the Lost Wages Assistance program. FEMA’s grant funding will allow Arkansas to provide $300 per week in addition to their regular unemployment benefit to those who are unemployed due to COVID-19.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency will work with Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson to implement a system to make this funding available to all Arkansas residents.

This money became available from a disaster relief fund made possible by President Trump of $44 billion dollars from FEMA’s Disaster Relief Fund to provide financial assistance to Americans who have lost wages due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, the state of Arkansas agreed to administer a lost wages program for its citizens who are unemployed due to COVID-19.

I know there are some folks who are unemployed due to COVI-19 that could really use some additional money to help make ends meet. If you would like to learn more and how you can receive the FEMA lost wages supplemental assistance, go here.
