‘Toss For A Cause’ – Register Your Cornhole Team For Inaugural Charity Tournament
I'm not sure what the fascination is with throwing something onto a pole, in a basket, or in a hole but humans are competitive by nature, and if there's a way we can make a game out of something, by golly we will. Remember when everybody played horseshoes? How about washers? Lawn darts maybe? I seem to remember a game when I was a kid that involved bean bags.
Well, in recent years cornhole has become all the rage, the "bean" bag has been replaced by a bag of dry corn and instead of trying to get the bag inside a circle, we have constructed boards with holes in them to toss the bags into. Not a complicated game at all, but a ton of fun.
The Junior League of Texarkana is now signing up teams for their first-ever Cornhole Tournament for charity. "Toss for a Cause" is what the Junior League is calling it and with the popularity of the cornhole game these days, this should be a no brainer. They are looking for 2-person teams to register using the online form at the Junior League website.
The 2-person team will cost $60 to enter, $70 at the door.
The tournament will be their first fundraiser for 2022 and the inaugural tournament of this kind for the Junior League Texarkana. According to the Junior League Facebook Page:
Make a Change! The Make a Change project will provide diapers and wipes to low-income families through Opportunities, Inc. in Texarkana, AR. This fundraiser will allow Opportinities, Inc. to continue services and meet a need for these families.
The tournament will take place at Crossties, 324 Broad St in downtown Texarkana on Sunday, February 27, starting at 2 PM.
