Top 10 Best Fishing Holes in Arkansas for Free Fishing Weekend
Get your rod and reels out because it's a FREE fishing weekend in Arkansas starting at noon on Friday, June 10, and lasting until midnight on Sunday, June 12.
Free Fishing Weekend is courtesy of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and a proclamation from Governor Asa Hutchinson. Anyone resident or non-resident can fish for free in Arkansas without a license or trout stamp and there are a lot of great fishing holes, rivers, and lakes in the natural state.
Additionally, four Arkansas Game and Fish Commission warm water hatcheries will be hosting a family-friendly fishing derby on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Recently, the AGFC has raised the age limit from 12 and younger, and now anyone who wishes to fish can do so by registering at their website. A minimum of 3 catfish are allowed to take home but you must furnish a cooler or bag.
Here are the 4 hatcheries that are participating this weekend.
- Centerton - Charlie Craig State Fish Hatchery
- Corning - William Donham State Fish Hatchery
- Hot Springs - Andrew Hulsey State Fish Hatchery
