In our new reality, of people working from home, some folks getting laid off and all this time that is spent at home can be a little overwhelming.

Hope Centered Counseling is just one of the many places that you can seek therapy. Katie Walker, MS, LPC had this to say about the current situation.

These are strange days, for everyone, and we all have a lot of uncertainty right now. Here are some ways to cope during this experience:

Isolation can lead to increases in depression and distorted thinking. Remember to keep reaching out to others. Socializing and feeling a sense of belonging, and, is an important part of our mental health.

Reaching out can also be a good opportunity to process and vent about your concerns, fears, and even the positives you’re cultivating during this time. Share the creative ways you’ve found to entertain yourself and/or ways that are helping you make the best of a weird time.

Uncertainty is anxiety-provoking; even if your anxiety isn’t in your thinking your body will very likely hold tension during this time.

Your body is an important part of how you feel/experience every moment. Movement helps us release tension in the body. You may feel triggered right now & confused about how this event triggered situations that seem unrelated.

Trauma awakens trauma; whether is physical or emotional. Keep going.
