Amazon’s ‘The Tick’ Gets a Revamped Costume for Production Start
Amazon’s live-action reboot of The Tick obviously went over well enough to earn a full series pickup, though fans were admittedly less impressed with star Peter Serafinowicz’s hyper-detailed costume. Now that production on the full series has officially gotten underway, however, the Guardians of the Galaxy star is suiting up in something a bit less conspicuous.
The Tick Twitter account shared a first look at Serafinowicz’s revamped costume, looking noticeably smoother and more angular than the textured, organic-seeming version from the pilot. The headpiece has also been redesigned to a fuller, more padded shape, with additional room for Serafinowicz’s eyes and brows, and a more pronounced chin:
So reads the official synopsis:
In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an underdog accountant with zero powers comes to realize his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero. The Tick stars Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy), Griffin Newman (Vinyl), Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen), Valorie Curry (House of Lies), Yara Martinez (Jane the Virgin) and Brendan Hines (Scorpion). The Tick is executive produced by Ben Edlund (Supernatural), Barry Josephson (Bones) and Barry Sonnenfeld (A Series of Unfortunate Events), directed by Wally Pfister (The Dark Knight), and written by Edlund.
Amazon hasn’t yet come forth with a premiere window, but watch the pilot on its streaming service, and stay tuned for the latest. Is the new look otherwise an upgrade?
