We attended the Courthouse/Post Office/Christmas Tree Lighting and Time Capsule burial last Friday night, December 8 in downtown Texarkana and the weather cooperated, thank goodness.
The weekend is here and so is Texarkana's 150 birthday, tonight the Sesquicentennial celebration continues downtown with the Post Office Lighting, Time Capsule ceremony and then it's live performances at the Perot Theatre featuring the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra and much more. Texas Governor Greg Abbott Wednesday (December 8) issued a statement regarding the Texas Workforce Commission's (TWC) letter to Texas employers that clarifies the state's law on COVID-19 vaccine mandates in the workplace.
Bowie County reports 27 new cases and 1 additional death for a total of 2,606 cumulative positive COVID-19 cases, with 107 total deaths. The Department of State Health Services is reporting 2,113 recoveries.
Cass County added 16 new cases, for a total of 789, with 704 of those recovered, 47 active cases and 36 fatalities.
Miller County reports 2277 cumulative cases, 96 active cases, 2159 recovered
