‘Spring Rabies Clinic’ this Saturday

There will be a 'Spring Rabies Clinic' this Saturday in Texarkana.

The 'Spring Rabies Clinic' will take place on Saturday from 9 AM until 1 PM. at the Ark=La-Tex Animal Clinic at 3204 New Boston Road in Texarkana.

There will be free rabies shots available for the first 350 dogs and cats. Free city registration will be offered for dogs and cats residing inside city limits. Micro-chipping and other vaccinations will be available for a discounted fee. All dogs must be on a leash, all cats must be in a carrier.

According to the American Humane Association, the following are vaccinations are essential for your dog or cat.

Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza and Parvovirus (DHPP). Commonly called the “distemper shot,” this combination vaccine actually protects against the four diseases in its full name.
Rabies. Rabies virus is fatal and all mammals, including humans, are susceptible to infection. Rabies vaccinations for dogs are required by law in most states.
