Getting around downtown at the Post Office/Courthouse is a little tedious but the end result of the Courthouse Square Connections Project will be so worth it. Starting tomorrow Wednesday, April 28 they will be changing things up a lot. Road work will be taking place on the road that circles around the courthouse.

This means a big portion of that road will be shut down. This construction is expected to last several weeks. So if you are in the downtown area and you need to go to the post office just be aware of the detours that you will need to take in this area and most of all be patient!

Here is a map of what to expect as far as what the detour will look like.

Getting around the post office/courthouse - Traffic traveling south on Stateline will be directed to go west on 6th Street and turn on to Olive Street then down to 4th Street where you can travel east or west. The road on the east side of the building will be open during this time, so you travel north on Wood Street from Stateline back up around the Post Office and connect back to Stateline north of the building.

If there are any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 903-798-3948.

Just keep remembering what it will look like when it's finished! Do you remember? Check it out below. The left is previously and the right is what they are working towards!
