‘Precautionary Boil Water Notice’ For Parts of Texarkana Recinded

“Precautionary Boil Water Notice” is hereby rescinded.
This boil notice was due to a water main break caused by a lightning strike in the area of 6800 Genoa Road, Texarkana, Arkansas on Sunday, May 21..
According to a press release by the Texarkana Water Utilities:
An adequate disinfectant level has been established throughout the distribution system and the satisfactory completion of the bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.

There is a Precautionary Boil Water Notice that has been issued for the Miller County Water Supply Corporation (Genoa System), Texarkana, Arkansas.
Texarkana Water Utilities issued this precautionary measure for the possibility that contaminated water may enter the distribution system. There is a loss in the pressure system.
According to a press release from Texarkana Water Utilities;
The boil water order was due to a water main break caused by a lightning strike in the area of 6800 Genoa Road.
Under the ‘Boil Water’ order, all affected customers must be advised that the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one (1) minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded, and only boiled water used for making ice.
Please be sure to boil water until this problem has been resolved and an adequate disinfectant level is once again established. As soon as we get an official statement from Texarkana Water Utilies that the water boil in not needed anymore we will spread the word
