‘Preacher’ Reintroduces ‘The Saint of Killers’ in Epic Season 2 Catch-Up
Preacher literally blew up its own premise for Season 2, so you’d be forgiven reminders of the big bad teased throughout Season 1. Less forgiven is Jesse himself, as an extended Preacher Season 2 catch-up reacquaints us with “The Saint of Killers,” displaying new footage in the process.
AMC released a full half-hour preview of the coming season, so as to remind Preacher fans of Graham McTavish’s Saint of Killers arc woven through Season 1. The first year threaded the immortal cowboy’s history in one-off vignettes, though Season 2 will pick up his pursuit of Jesse Custer full-time.
Set for a Sunday, June 25 premiere, so reads the Preacher Season 2 synopsis:
The expanded second season, consisting of 13 episodes, is a genre-bending thrill ride that follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
Joining the cast of Preacher Season 2 are Game of Thrones alum Noah Taylor, Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Pip Torrens (Herr Starr!) and Fargo alum Julie Ann Emery as series regulars. Recurring roles will include Timeless star Malcolm Barrett, Homeland alum Ronald Guttman, and Justin Prentice.
We’ll see more of Preacher Season 2 this weekend, but check out the first trailers and clips below, and stay tuned for Sunday’s premiere.
