Some help for veterans in need will be made available this Friday.

The "Stand Down for Homeless Veterans" will be held Friday, October 30,  from 8AM to 2PM at Hope Connections, 2350 Levy St., Shreveport, LA.  This event is a one-stop event for Veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless to have access to free medical services, VA services and benefits, meals, haircuts, clothing, housing information, community resources, employment and educational information, and other services and assistance as needed. 

Veterans are asked to bring the following documents if they have them: VA identification card, DD214, birth certificate, social security card or printout, two proofs of mailing address, and if living at a shelter, their shelter statement.
This event is co-hosted by Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, HOPE for the Homeless and Volunteers of America. Special thanks are extended to all the community agencies that donate their resources and time to make this event a success.
