Mid America Flight Museum Opens For Summer This Saturday – Just Plane Nuts
I can't wait to get back in the saddle with these warbirds in East Texas. The Mid America Flight Museum in Mt Pleasant is opening back up this weekend for you to come see these beauties up close. Because, like you, I'm 'Just Plane Nuts.'
It took me a while to finally get over there and see this private collection of amazing planes on display to the public in Mt Pleasant but I finally made it last year, and I can't wait to get back and spend some more time with them.
My cousin, a retired pilot, turned me on to this collection of warbirds and other historic aircraft a while back and in 2022 I finally made the trip to see them and fell in love. It really is one of the finest private collections of aircraft I have ever laid eyes on.
This private museum is loaded with flyable planes and helicopters, and believe it or not, is actually just a part of the overall collection. This location is called the Mid America Flight Museum. Located at the Mt Pleasant Municipal Airport or KOSA to you pilots. The airport address is 602 Mike Hall Pkwy, Mt Pleasant, TX 75455, for those planning a drive to see it, here's a map.
As of this weekend, the museum is only open on Saturdays from 8 AM until noon. It's FREE, so grab the kids and let's get them interested in aviation. There are some really nice gentlemen there on Saturdays to guide you around the hangers. Aircraft include a P-51 Mustang, Ford Tri-Motor, P-40 Warhawk, C-47, B-25 Mitchell, Cobra Helicopter, AT-6 Texan, and many, many more. There is a donation box to help keep these planes flying and souvenirs available as well.
Here is a taste of what's waiting for you at the Mid America Flight Museum in beautiful Mt Pleasant, Texas.
