Coldplay, Liam Gallagher Team Up on Oasis’ ‘Live Forever’ at One Love Manchester
Coldplay performed two Oasis songs at tonight's One Love Manchester benefit concert, serenading their host Ariana Grande with "Don't Look Back in Anger," and joining forces with Liam Gallagher for "Live Forever."
You can see photos from the show above, and watch both performances below. Grande organized and headlined the star-studded benefit - which also featured Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus - to raise money for the victims of a terror attack that killed 22 fans at the conclusion of her May 22nd show in Manchester.
"You've been singing for us, and now we want to sing for you," Coldplay singer Chris Martin said after inviting Grande on stage. He then led the massive crowd through a reading of "Don't Look Back in Anger." The city has adopted the Oasis song - from the Manchester-born band's 1995 album (What's the Story) Morning Glory? - as an anthem of solidarity and bravery since the attack.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the One Love Manchester concert raised over three million dollars for the British Red Cross's Manchester Emergency Fund, bringing the total amount raised to over 12 million dollars so far. The money "will help alleviate immediate suffering and ensure victims and their families do not face short-term financial difficulties."
