Man Catches 29 Pound Catfish at Spring Lake Park

A friend of mine shared some pictures of a gentleman that caught a 29 pound 8 ounce catfish at Spring Lake Park.

The guys name is David White and he told her that he fishes Spring Lake Park all the time and he never believed he would catch one this big. David even had a scale to get the fish's weight and then he released it back into the lake.

I had a chance to speak to Eddie Aulds of the Texarkana Parks Service and he told me that it is the biggest fish they have on record from the lake. Eddie also told me they have plans to dredge the lake at the park to make it deeper. I sure hope that they can do this without harming this and the many other fish in the lake.
