It's a situation that law enforcement hopes they are never in, but must train for and be ready. We're talking about the scenario of an active shooter at a local public school.A training session involving representatives from the Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Texarkana, Ark., Police Department, Bi-State Communications, Miller County Sheriff’s Office and superintendents from the Fouke and Genoa School Districts was held at 8AM today.

The purpose of the meeting was to coordinate the efforts for a mutual aid response to the school districts in the event of an active shooter or medical situation. The Rave Panic Button and how it works was also discussed.

“I was pleased with the meeting. All agencies are coordinating in the event of an active shooter. We discussed all agencies being in accord," said Miller County Sheriff Ron Stovall.

After the meeting, a semi-annual inspection of the fleet and personnel was conducted.
