Lil Wayne Isn’t Quitting Blink-182 Tour, Releases Statement
Lil Wayne had a head-scratching moment during a tour stop in Virginia on Thursday night (July 11), where he walked offstage mid-set and appeared to be calling it quits on his tour with Blink-182. It appears the worst-case scenario has been avoided and the New Orleans rapper will continue on.
On Friday (July 12), Wayne offered a statement on Twitter for those perplexed by his actions at Thursday's show, which left his legion of fans wondering if he would still be on the road with the rock band.
"Yesterday was krazy!" Tune started in the tweet. "But I want all my fans to know I won’t be quitting this tour! I’m having too much fun with my bros blink-182. Bangor, ME See you tomorrow!"
This should be of some comfort to fans who were worried that would not be the case after Thursday's show, which took place at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Va.
During his set, the Young Money rapper stopped mid-song to address the crowd. "I just want the people to know, if you’re wondering, please forgive me, but I am so-not used to performing to a crowd... and there’s not too many... that’s not my swag,” he explained. “I’m not sure how long I’m gonna be able to do this tour, but make some noise for Blink-182 for including me anyway. This might be my last night, though. Let’s go.”
It looks like all is well. However, the tour is still in its early stages and will continue on until Sept. 18 with a finale in Camden, N.J.
