Texarkana Texas Police Request Help Finding Man Involved In Shootout
Texarkana Texas Police are requesting your help in finding this man who was allegedly involved in a shootout a few weeks ago here in Texarkana.
TTPD needs your help finding Datrit Harris, 20, for Deadly Conduct/Discharge Firearm and Failure to Identify. According to the release, Harris was involved in a shootout with two other men in the middle of a residential street back on May 20, 2023.
The incident happened in the area of Babb Lane and Tracola Street at about 7:30 PM when calls came in of shots being fired.
Police said that the callers told the 911 operator that they heard at least 20 shots and described a white Nissan Maxima that was involved. En route to the call location, TTPD said Officer Micah Miller spotted the Nissan at the intersection of Richmond Road and Belt Road, at which time it took off through the red light. The Officer began persuit until it eventually stopped on East 42nd Street in Arkansas. Both the driver and passenger were arrested by Texarkana Arkansas Police after two guns and drugs were found inside the car. One of the guns had been reported stolen.
During the course of the investigation, TTPD Detective Tabitha Smith located some surveillance video in the area of the initially reported shooting that showed exactly what happened, a dark-colored car could be seen passing the Nissan and came to a stop. Almost immediately, a man with a rifle stepped out of that car with a rifle and started shooting in the direction of the Nissan. At the same time, two men get out of the Nissan and shoot back toward the other man. All of this took place with children, houses, and other vehicles in the line of fire, but according to the report, they didn't seem to care. After several shots are exchanged, the two men in the Nissan sped away and moments later were encountered by Officer Miller, the guy with the rifle ran away on foot.
Since they were arrested on the Arkansas side of town, Detective Smith knew who the two men in the Nissan were, so she obtained warrants for Zachary Moore, 20, for Deadly Conduct/Discharge Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Evading Arrest with a Previous Detention. Another warrant was obtained for Kadarus Lincoln, 17, for Deadly Conduct/Discharge Firearm. They were both arrested on May 31 and are still in the Bi-State Jail as of this writing.
A positive has been made on the third man involved in this shooting, his name is Datrit Harris. Warrants for his arrest have been issued last week but so far Harris has been able to illude police.
