It happens all the time, police like to refer to it as "targets of opportunity," someone is passing by a vehicle, maybe it was left unlocked, or not, and they see something valuable in plain sight. Temptation gets the better of them, they open the vehicle or reach in, or bust a window and take it. It appears to have happened again, and the police are asking for your assistance in locating the woman in these pictures.

According to the Texarkana Arkansas Police, the woman pictured below is currently being sought for attempting to cash stolen checks. The checks were left in a vehicle, the vehicle was broken into and the checks were taken.

The images were obtained from video cameras located at the financial institution where she tried to cash the checks. The images are not the best quality but not bad either, if you think you know who she is, TAPD would love to hear from you. The female in the photos appears to be wearing a wig to conceal her identity.

The TAPD Facebook post states that items left in vehicles are often pawned, sold on the streets for cash, or used for other means and crimes. To reduce the possibility of this happening you should always:

  • Always lock your doors.
  • Never leave valuable items in plain sight.
  • Never leave your vehicle running while you run into the store.

If you recognize the person or the vehicle in the photos above, please notify Texarkana Arkansas Police Detective Patterson at (903)798-3154.
