In 10 Years Demi Lovato Will “Definitely” Be a Mom

If Demi Lovato seems like the nurturing type on The X Factor, it's no mistake: the singer admits that she has a strong urge to have kids though she'll probably delay that urge for a while.

In the December 2013/January 2014 issue of Latina magazine, the 21-year-old singer says, "I’m a Texas girl, so my instinct is to have babies early. In my heart I’m like, ‘Okay, it’s time to have babies!’ But it’s not. I have so much life ahead of me that I actually have to slow my roll. We’ll see where my life is in five years, but I definitely see myself as a mom in 10.”

Of course, she needs someone to have those babies with, so what kind of guy is she looking for?  "I look for someone who makes me laugh," says the entertainer. "Because 20, 30 years from now, sometimes the spark fades, but when you’re with someone who’s your best friend that’s what makes a relationship last."

Meanwhile, Demi says she's enjoying her on-screen relationship with Naya Rivera on Glee she plays the girlfriend of Naya's character, Santana. However, she doesn't want people to get too hung up on the fact that she's portraying a lesbian on the show.

"Yes, we kissed in the first episode, but I want people to pay less attention to the fact that I’m kissing a girl," she tells Latina. "Focus on the fact that having a young, multicultural lesbian couple on prime time is a huge step in our generation. It’s showing people that it’s okay to be who you are. Don’t be ashamed of it.”
