With Coronavirus cases on the increase across the United States, we are always looking for ways to keep us and our family safe and this new study should help.

A recent study from the journal Nature says that there are major areas you need to avoid to keep safe from the current coronavirus spike. The study used our cellphone data to track our movements and come up with the areas that people are most likely to get the coronavirus.

For months places like restaurants and gyms have been linked to outbreaks of COVID-19 now a new study from the journal Nature has determined that these locations and others have been behind most of the cases of COVID-19 in the United States.

The study used our cellphone data to track our movements and come up with the areas that people are most likely to get the coronavirus. They tracked the movements of over 90 million people from 57,000 neighborhoods to points of interest like restaurants churches and stores for a period of two months starting way back in March 2020.

The location data which was collected by a company called Safe Graph that gets the data from mobile apps used data from the largest US cities including Houston, Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago. After getting this data and also using data in other scenarios like restaurants opening up to bigger capacities, they were able to determine that restaurant opening full capacity led to the largest increase in infections. Gyms, hotels, and motels at full capacity created jumps in infections as well.

Here are the areas to avoid if you want to stay coronavirus-free. Gyms, full-service restaurants, religious gatherings, and limited-service restaurants. In fact the study with all the information they had said that more than 80% of the infections in the US can be traced back to these locations.

The study though was not all negative. Using the information that they gathered the study said the biggest way to decrease the number of Covid cases was for restaurants to scale back the 30% occupancy.

After hearing this information will you go to the gym and your favorite restaurant less? Or will you just be more careful in the future?
