Pianist Gabriela Martinez To Make Her Texarkana Symphony Orchestra Debut [VIDEO]
Calling all those who love the symphony! I just stumbled across the season’s lineup for the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra, and we're in for a treat.
Our local symphony is hosting a concert entitled “Emperor” featuring pianist Gabriela Martinez playing music from Beethoven on September 10 at the Perot Theatre.
Originally from Venezuela, Martinez attended The Julliard School on a full scholarship. Since then, she's won numerous awards including first prize at the Anton G. Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Dresden.
She's also performed worldwide at places like Carnegie Hall in New York, Davies Hall in San Francisco, Bass Hall in Fort Worth, Palace of Versailles in Paris (France, not Texas) and many other famous venues.
While it’s been some time since I attended a classical concert, I am anxious for Gabriela’s arrival in Texarkana so that I can experience her extraordinary skill and be transported back to the time when my family went to the symphony when I was young.
