The 4th Annual Fall Gathering of Authors events to benefit St. Jude and Arkansas Children's Hospital are coming up the first weekend of November. There is a charity dinner and book signing event scheduled.

  • The Book Signing is Saturday, Nov. 2, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

There will be many authors available to autograph books along with kids with this year's Dream Catcher's book, written by the kids. Free food and drinks all day, health screenings, free flu shots, Kids Korner with arts, crafts and story time, dozens of door prizes given away all day long. Venders will be set up at the event.

All money made at this event will be divided between St. Jude and Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Tammy Thompson is the driving force behind this event. She said, "I founded the Fall 'Gathering of Authors' Charity Event & Book Signing to promote literacy in kids and to help St. Jude as well as Arkansas Children's hospital. Funding each year for this event gets hard to find and we would appreciate your help. We have a book called DREAM CATCHERS published compiled of stories kids have written and submitted to our yearly writing contest. All proceeds from the sales of this book go to our charities. With this book, the kids who have stories in it, will come to our Nov. 2nd event and autograph along with all of the 26 authors attending. Buying the books we need is the dillema. These kids are so looking forward to it and without funding we won't have enough money to buy all the books we need. DREAM CATCHERS Vol 2 will be available online everywhere after the end of October for everyone to purchase. All proceeds from this book is given straight to St. Jude and Arkansas Children's. Help in this "Kids Helping Kids" effort, one child saving another's life through literacy and heart."
